Series of performances, graffiti, stickers and installations on the gender issue.
“All women go out in a feminine disguise” and for me dressing in a “feminine” way was to cross dress. Rotterdam, Vienna, Linz, Porto – 2002/03
During 3 months I was researching on what is femininity… From asking people in cloth shops to dress me (with the things they had in the shop) in a way that I would look feminine (the picture with the dog is one of those) – to be embodying things that are considered to be feminine, one day I would wear high heels shoes with my regular cloths, or complete make up done by Lancôme, or polished nails… until the day I dress feminine – with a black skirt and shirt, a fur coat, make up done by Channel, the nails and the bond hair – because for a Latin culture to be feminine is also to be blond. From this project came out a series of graffiti, stickers, pictures in magazines, performances, talks, and a final performance in Vienna were I painted my hair black again and became me…
